Claudio Vio Pigato

$28.00
Type: White Wine
There is an old phrase about how beautiful places make beautiful wine and there is no better exemplification of this than the work of Claudio Vio in Liguria. Situated in the shadow of the Ligurian Alps in a small town near Genoa, the Vio family farms a minuscule amount of wine grapes amongst the native plants. Primarily growing the varietal Pigato, the Vio family has taken the varietal to the next level with their meticulous farming practices. Pigato might be genetically identical to Vermentino but the Vio’s work on the varietal draws little comparison to the former. The highly aromatic and rich body are knitted together by a saline acidity that conjures up the beauty of the Italian Riviera.
